Your quality Healthcare with respect is our Amana

Amana Dialysis Centre

Our mission is to provide quality Kidney Care & Dialysis Service at competitive price so that you can continue to live an active and productive life

It is very difficult to receive quality kidney care and dialysis service in Bangladesh even paying at high price due to poorly built and managed medical facility, low grade or old medical equipment, inexperienced staffs, lack of adequate hygiene and disinfectants causing infections. Patients and their families are often treated without the empathy and respect they expect and deserve.

Amana Dialysis Centre (ADC) is established to provide premium kidney care and dialysis service. All of the aforementioned inadequacies and challenges have been objectively and thoroughly analyzed and remediated at all levels of design and implementation phases.

We have followed standards and best practices in the United States of America (U.S.A.) to design and build Amana Dialysis Centre (ADC). Our goal is to provide and maintain quality of patient care similar to that provided at dialysis centres in the U.S.A.

Empowering Patients & Families through education

Most often patients and their families are left uninformed on the diagnosis details, treatment options, or the treatment methods chosen for them. Sometimes they don’t know why some tests are done. These conditions negatively impact patients and their families both financially and the quality of care they receive. Patients and their families feel intimidated to raise questions.

We want to empower our patients by providing information they need to make informed decisions. A lot of data on kidney health, risk factors, diagnostic testing, Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), CKD prevention, CKD management, kidney friendly diet guidelines, and dialysis are provided in this website that were compiled from world renowned research organizations, and hospitals – list of institutions are provided under “Acknowledgement & Credit” at the end of this page.

We strongly encourage everyone to take the time to read through all the materials in this website. These information will help you and your family making the right decisions on maintaining kidney health, testing, evaluating kidney treatment options, and on dialysis. Having this knowledge will help you to raise the right questions, assess treatment options, select methods of treatment and to maintain your health. An informed patient is the best patient.

You can also do a free online self-test to find individualized information about your kidney and overall health from the National Kidney Foundation in the U.S.A. The link is given in this page below.

How to select a dialysis centre?

According to the Medicare.gov guideline in the Unites States of America (U.S.A), patients are encouraged to raise the following questions as a checklist before choosing a dialysis centre:

  1. Is this dialysis center conveniently located for you?
  2. How easy is parking at the dialysis center?
  3. How far do you have to walk from the drop-off area to the front door of the center?
  4. Is the center handicapped accessible?
  5. Is the dialysis center clean?
  6. Are there up-to-date patient education materials in the dialysis center’s waiting room?
  7. Does the dialysis center’s staff seem friendly, caring, and respectful of patients?
  8. Are you offered a tour of the dialysis center?
  9. How is the temperature in the dialysis treatment room? Is it warm or cold?
  10. What is the hours of operations? Does that change during the holidays?
  11. What kind of security do you have at the center?
  12. What is the visitors’ policy?
  13. Is there Wi-Fi or a TV available?
  14. What is the policy on eating while on the dialysis machine?
  15. How many patients does each nurse take care of at a time?
  16. What other staff will help with my care?
  17. If I have a concern about my care, who do I talk to?
  18. If I need help when the clinic is closed, who do I call?
  19. How can the center help if a patient has a medical emergency?

Additionally, from the context of Bangladesh, the following criteria are also important for selecting a dialysis centre:

  1. Is there uninterrupted power supply, in case of loss of electricity?
  2. What’s the quality of the RO water used in dialysis?
  3. What’s the quality of the medical equipment and supplies including dialysis machines, dialyzer, renal fluid, etc.?
  4. What’s the experience level of the medical staffs?
  5. What’s risk level for infection?

Free Online Self-Test from the National Kidney Foundation in the U.S.A.

You can do a free online self-test to find individualized information about your kidney and overall health from the National Kidney Foundation in the United States of America (USA). It is a very quick, easy, and free service to find out if you have the risk of developing Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).

Free self-test link to the National Kidney Foundation in the USA

Typically there is no symptom of kidney disease at early stages. So the best and only method to know your kidneys are healthy is to do a blood test for GFR (Glomerular Filtration Rate) and a urine test for Albumin described in section 2.3 of this guidebook.

The sooner you know, the better.
